CQ WW RTTY 2010 OL2X

After long time dad and me decided take again on-air our contest callsign OL2X. Upcomming CQ WW RTTY contest was great opportunity have some fun during 48 hours. We already participated in CQ WW RTTY 2008 and we use always same hardware, so it is little easy compare our effort and condx.

We started already in Friday evening, when I created new contest and setup messages in writelog logging software. Changed cable for another one capable FSK and everything worked for first time, excellent!

Dad started contest during Saturday night and I joined to the contest during morning. We had no plan for shift or so. We switched by radio depends on our actual mood and fun factor. We have only one antenna, our vertical for 40 – 10M and no more than 200watts out. As 15M was open during this weekend, I tried concentrated on this band and I worked quite nice DX on 15.

It was quite surprising, that we did not work US stations on 20m during 13–16 UTC on Saturday afternoon as usually. Instead of DX was 20M overcrowded by EU and I worked even neighbour stations from Austria, Poland, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary who are quite difficult on 20M for us with verical antenna.

Finally, we spent on-air together almost 36 hours and we broke all our personal QSO records and claimed 935 QSO! Detailed overview per countries and bands is available here

And, writelog statistic showed:

  QSO Pts Zn Dx St
80M 0 0 0 0 0
40M 427 920 19 63 24
20M 335 796 24 72 34
15M 163 438 28 60 14
10M 10 30 7 7 0
Total 935 2184 78 202 72
Score 768768
