QRZ.COM Bookmarklet
Submitted by ok4bx on Sat, 2010-03-06 23:11Probably everybody of us search sometime callsign on qrz.com. For me it is: 1. select callsign, 2. copy to clipboard, 3. open new panel, 4. open qrz.com page and 5. paste callsign to search box and 6. search for it. Quite many steps, especially if you repeat it more than once..
Contact with Alaska
Submitted by ok4bx on Sun, 2010-02-28 13:59All this started in November, 2009. I tweeted link with map of USA where I mark confirmed states via LoTW. You know, I am not focused on collecting awards, but after some months, I was curious where my signal reach the USA and WAS data from LoTW was nice opportunity mark it onto map. After hearing names of US states many times before from TV and Radio, that was also great opportunity learn where they are exactly on the map.

He took this photo..
QSL Card OK2BX 1949 is back
Submitted by ok4bx on Tue, 2010-01-12 22:47This QSL Card sent my grandfather Bohuslav OK2BX for CW radio contact on 28MHz to station W6FHW on 11th March 1949. I luckily found it, during searching other old stuff, on ebay and got it back on 11th January 2010. This is really most valuable QSL card at home for me and for my father either! I am glad my grandpa did not use printed stickers and we can now enjoy his handwritting. Btw, he designed this QSL card on his own.
Old times, hamradio and me
Submitted by ok4bx on Sat, 2010-01-02 18:11Unfortunatelly, I had not luck meet my grandfather Bohuslav OK2BX personally. He passed away too early. He was quite known person in begin of hamradio in Czechoslovakia, I think. These days still happen to me that older hams remember to my grandfather, when I tell my name.
Winkeyer
Submitted by ok4bx on Sun, 2009-12-13 22:43I ocasionally experienced that direct keying from writelog over FTDI USB interface has “hiccup”. In this case I must interupt transmitting and send macro again. I ordered Winkeyer2 kit serial version from Steve K1EL.
